It’s been great sleeping in and walking without backpacks the last two days. But the dawn was calling today to remind us of why we took on this beautiful, yet arduous, journey.
Keeping Rumi in mind, we woke up at dawn to be in the moment and partake of the divine beauty all around us.
“The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the door sill
Where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep.”
Immediately we were in the rapture of awesome peace and tranquility.
Gone are the grazing ranges and cattle. We are now in the farmland and orchards.
We ran into Stavi from Switzerland who was in Louisville, Colorado (near Denver), in 1993 with “Up With People.”
We are in a beautiful, quite village of Lauzerte, atop the mountain with a beautiful view of the valley all around.
Love your poem…and yes, you were treated to a magical sunrise morning. Your rest did
you good…breathtaking pictures!
“Don’t go back to sleep” – beautiful inspiration from Rumi for those of us that sleep thru life.
Beautiful morning views that most of us miss out – thanks for the gift…
Fantastic pictures again.
