About Enayet Jiwani

Born in the East and growing up in the West, I have spent much of my life exploring the balance between two worlds—the demands of a corporate life and the quieter call of the spiritual life.
For decades I worked as a corporate executive while maintaining a regular practice of meditation and exploring what it means to live fully in the world without becoming consumed by it. I came to think of this as the life of a Corporate Mystic—finding a middle path between achievement and contentment, action and stillness, the material and the spiritual.
In 2014, approaching my 60th birthday, I set out with my wife Pat, our daughter Sitara, my sister Sakkar, and our friend Vandana to walk the Camino Francés across Spain. What began as a physical challenge became something much deeper—a pilgrimage of body, mind, and soul.
That first Camino did not end in Santiago. It opened the door to years of walking and exploration: other Camino routes, the Via Podiensis across France, the Way of St. Francis through Italy, Everest Base Camp in Nepal, and other journeys around the world.
Through all of them, the same questions continue to interest me: How much do we really need? How do we remain present? How do we find balance in a busy world? And how do we learn to trust the path even when we cannot see where it is leading?
Camino Mystic is where I share those journeys and reflections—some written from the road, others looking back after the walking is done.
The journey continues.
