The Tour du Mont Blanc is considered one of the world’s classic long-distance treks, circling Western Europe’s highest mountain through France, Italy, and Switzerland. In 2019, our group joined a guided ten-day trek covering nearly 100 miles. The company handled the logistics—accommodations, luggage transfers, and meals—allowing us to focus entirely on the trail.
The scenery was every bit as spectacular as we had imagined. Snow-covered peaks, alpine meadows, glaciers, waterfalls, and charming mountain villages surrounded us each day.
The trekking itself, however, was far more demanding than we expected. Most days involved long, relentless climbs followed by equally long descents, often leaving little opportunity to simply stop and absorb the beauty around us. The pace was brisk, and not everyone in our group was able to complete every stage.
Even so, the mountains left a lasting impression. Between the physical challenge and the breathtaking scenery, the Tour du Mont Blanc became a journey of endurance, resilience, and appreciation for the remarkable landscapes of the Alps.
