“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. ”
Henry David Thoreau
We had one of our best afternoons and evenings at this Gite/Chambre D’hôte. The husband and wife team were very loving in their welcome; the place was in a gorgeous setting with great views; and to top it all off, we were fed a simple but sumptuous 7-course meal for dinner (squash soup, mellon, salad, turkey, ratatouille, cheese, and pear with cinnamon, cardomum, and basil for dessert. Here is a glimpse!
After about an hour we were on top of a peak looking back at Lauzerte as the sun was bathing the city with its early morning rays. We found a great place to sit and eat our breakfast of a cinnamon raisin roll.
In moments like these, one wonders how life can get any better! We feel so blessed and grateful.
We are settled in a tiny gite in a tiny village. It is Sunday, so there is nothing open! No worries. We are stocked. Just cooked a nice lunch of chicken and fried eggs with a croissant. Tonight I will be cooking pasta with pesto sauce and few other goodies. Great contrast from yesterday, but fun nonetheless!!!
